About Sarah

Sarah Belfield is based in the U.S. state of Texas, following her move there in early 2009 to join Platts.

Prior to that, Sarah worked in Perth, Australia, where she reported on minerals exploration and mining companies since January 2004. During this period she began writing about oil and gas companies too, along with the related fields of alternative energy sources and climate change. Sarah also writes on a variety of science and technology topics, such as ecology and nanotechnology.

Sarah holds a first-class honours degree in geology and chemistry. She recently completed a graduate diploma in business economics.

Before heading into reporting, Sarah worked in media relations.
